PCS participation
PCS confirms that TerraLith Char is participating in a major farmer-led commercial poultry trial investigating whether engineered biochar can help reduce ammonia levels in chicken sheds.
That participation statement comes from PCS. It should not be read as a claim that the NFU article names TerraLith Char or independently verifies its involvement.
What the wider ADOPT trial is assessing
The National Farmers’ Union’s independent coverage describes an Innovate UK ADOPT project testing engineered biochar in bedding across four commercial broiler farms: two in Shropshire, one in Herefordshire and one in Worcestershire.
The wider trial will monitor ammonia levels and assess litter condition, bird welfare, handling and practical use under normal commercial farm routines.

Evidence before outcomes
This is an active commercial trial, not a completed performance claim. The project is investigating whether engineered biochar can make a measurable difference; results and the conditions under which they are observed will matter.
PCS will continue to distinguish trial design, observations and measured outcomes as evidence becomes available.
Independent coverage and PCS context
The NFU article covers the wider farmer-led trial, the questions it is designed to answer and how it will operate across the four farms. It does not name TerraLith Char.
